As of January 1, 2025, Doc’s Surgical Hospital is no longer part of the Anthem Blue Cross network. This change affects all Anthem health plans, including employer-sponsored, individual, and Medicare Advantage plans.
What This Means for Anthem Members
Anthem members who previously received care at Doc’s Surgical Hospital will now need to seek services at alternative in-network facilities to avoid higher out-of-pocket costs. Anthem has provided a list of alternative contracted facilities, including general acute care hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, laboratories, radiology centers, and dialysis centers. Members can use the “Find Care” feature on the Anthem website or the Sydney Health app to locate these facilities.
Continuity of Care Options
For members undergoing active treatment or managing chronic conditions, Anthem offers Continuity of Care provisions. This allows eligible members to continue receiving care from Doc’s Surgical Hospital for a limited time under certain conditions. Members should contact Anthem directly to determine eligibility and initiate the Continuity of Care process.
Ongoing Negotiations
Anthem and Doc’s Surgical Hospital have not reached a new agreement as of the contract’s expiration. However, both parties continue to engage in negotiations with the hope of reestablishing an in-network relationship. Members will be notified if an agreement is reached in the future.
Support and Resources
Anthem is committed to assisting members during this transition. For personalized support, members can contact Anthem’s customer service or reach out to their Amwins Connect representative. Additionally, tools like the “Find Care” feature and the Sydney Health app are available to help members locate in-network providers and manage their healthcare needs.
